Ray Green rarely plays in the tournaments. Now we know why. He is a
winner! He is
also one of the hardest workers in the league. Erica
moved up a couple of places this time. Forth place last session,
second place this one. I guess she showed us all it is not a fluke for
her to win. Walt has been chipping at the tournaments
for awhile, we knew it was only a matter of time before he got a
trophy. Matt has been playing a lot for a couple of
years and finally got to the finals. Good tournament!
Rules at the Table
Lets go over some of the rules and common courtesy at the poker table.
The Tennessee Poker League tries- to the best of our abilities- to
stay with the rules that the WSOP and other professional groups
play by.
All poker rooms in casinos are now smoke free.
We started that last year and with few exceptions it has worked well.
Phones are not allowed at the table during a
tournament. They are allowed in cash games, however--you will
be dealt around if you are on the phone and your hand will be declared
dead if you answer it after you have cards.
Discussing the board is something that should
not be done. If you were playing in a cash game and it had a bad beat
jackpot the house could call the hands dead if someone at the table
was talking about the flop. Besides that--you give the players the
unfair advantage of your thoughts of what is possible. Perhaps they
had not seen the same thing or the possibility of the hand. |

The Ladies
Poker League finished on Oct 12th.
They have
voted to start another 12 week session. If you didn't get a chance to
play in the league this session, now would be a good time to come out
and play in the new session.

If you would like to play in a ladies only league, please come in
on Sunday at 2pm. We have had a good response from the ladies and the
league is going well.
It will be a 12 week session, points race.
The Ladies league is almost over and there are three players way
out in front. It has been a good 12 week league. The play has been
very creative and definitely challenging.
