Rules for Election to the Free Poker League (FPL) Hall of Fame by Members and Voting Committee Members of the FreePokerLeague
1. Authorization — By authorization of the administrators of the Free Poker League inc., the members of the FPL are authorized to hold an election every year for the purpose of electing members to the FPL Hall of Fame from the ranks of players.
2. Electors — Only active and honorary members of FPL, who have been active players for at least 3 months, shall be eligible to vote. They must have been active members of the League for a period 3 consecutive months.
3. Eligible Candidates — Candidates to be eligible must meet the following requirements:
A. A player must have been active as a player in FPL at some time during a period of at least 6 months.
B. Player must have played in the league Tournament of Champions three times or more and in the Monthly League, having finished in the top 50 Players, three times or more.
C. Player must be an active poster in the forum.
D. Player must have made a significant contribution to the league.
4. Method of Election
A. FPL Voting Committee — A Voting Committee consisting of FPL Poker Champions will be appointed by FPL HOF Commissioner. This Voting Committee shall consist of 15 members. The duty of the Voting Committee shall be to prepare a ballot listing in alphabetical order eligible candidates who (1) received a vote on a minimum of 25% of the ballots cast in the preceding election or (2) are eligible for the first time and are nominated by any members representing 75% of the FPL Voting Committee.
B. Any candidate receiving votes on seventy-five percent (75%) of the ballots cast shall be elected to membership in the FPL Hall of Fame.
5. Voting — Voting shall be based upon the player's achievments, playing, ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character, and contributions to the league.
6. Automatic Elections — No automatic elections shall be permitted.
7. Time of Election — The duly authorized representatives of the FPL shall prepare, date and email ballots to each elector no later than the 1st day of May in each year in which an election is held. The elector shall sign and return the completed ballot within twenty (20) days. The vote shall then be tabulated by the duly authorized representatives of the FPL.
8. Certification of Election Results — The results of the election shall be certified by two administrators of FPL. The FPL Commisioner will release the results for posting.
9. Amendments — The FPL Administrators reserves the right to revoke, alter or amend these rules at any time.
Gee wiz Tblaze, that looks pretty good. Very impressive work. On #7, is it fifteen or 20 days? You must have copied this from the Major League Baseball hall of fame eligibility guidlines or something. If so, good idea.
