I been around this league as long as anybody has and i havent earned the right to vote in the HOF Selections. Who came up with the standards it took to get on this ELITE list ? Just curious. I guess playin and participating in the league is not one of the requirements because i see one name on the list that hasnt been here for 9 to 12 months. Maybe some of the players in this league cant win the monthly tournaments because the competition is really strong at the top of the FPL heap, but there are quite a few people who have been in this league for a long time through thick and thin and to put a name on that list that doesnt even play here or to snub the people who have been here for a long time i think is verry rude. I dont run this league so yall do what ya want. But in my humble opinion you arent giving the long time members of this league the respect they deserve.

I agree with TennSlim. He makes some very valid points. But the voting eligibility has to have some definitive line to seperate who votes and who doesn't.

Perhaps voters can be chosen based on these criteria:

1) Win one of the events described above.
2) Be an active member who reported at least 5 scores in each of the last three months.
3) Be an FPL member for at least 6 months.
4) If any of the first three provisions aren't met, it can be replaced and considered met if the member displays an avitar of a funky "christmas tree" next to his outstretched hand. Cool

I started in December 04, so I'm out. Just because I hit a hot streak in January shouldn't give me voter status. I'm too much of a newbie and at this time I decline any invitation to vote for this hall of fame honor.

I think the idea TBlaze is trying to come up needs to be a bit tighter than that, but I do agree there are a few serious names that aren't on tha list that have added a lot to the league.

Considering this is for the right to vote, not an auto induction into the hall of fame (correct me T, if I'm not reading this correct). Going off of TBlaze's initiative on this interesting idea, I think the 20 names he has there are auto voting members.

First thing to come to order for the committee is the right to appoint deserving FPLers to the board of people allowed to vote. This is not going to be an easy task. Once group is drawn, I see the beginning of electing the hall of fame inductees. Probably something that is going to be interesting to see, in the least.

Just my 22 cents... once again (all-in on the 1cent/2cent table of life)

My proposal was that each of the first three criteria must be met in order to vote, not just one of them. Then to get TennSlim in, I added the fourth one, which can be used to replace any of the first three. This fourth qualifier was sort of a joke, obviously, but not entirely.

Thus, having to meet the first three criteria whittles down the eligible voters considerably and fairly. But I really like your idea about the qualifying members then being able to appoint additional voting members whom they see fit by perhaps a majority vote. Then the committee, when set, can do the important voting, with only two inductees per 3 months maybe.

But since I've withdrawn myself from voting status, and I'm serious about that, I shall post on this subject no more.

I don't see any reason for you to withdraw from the list. T created an interesting part of the FPL here and I think it has a lot of potential.

My thought process was simple. Take Tblaze's approach to reward two categories he saw as a started and also add those who have done a lot for the greater good of FPL. People who those on that list would recognize.

Some of those things would include being an active poster in the forum and an active competitor in the events. (So now I've given out my thought process for how I plan to vote for additions to the vote list) Needless to say, you qualify on TBlazes initial design and you definitely qualify on my additional point. I think it would be a loss for you to withdraw.

Well, already lost my last 22 cents. back to the freerolls.

Thanks for everyone's imput. I have come up with a way to add non eligable contributors to the voting committee. (see above) Krak, I agree with MS, losing you on the committee will be a loss in whole. I am incorproating and including all the suggestions that I can from all members. If you think this is tough, wait till we form criteria for induction - we will need your input for that and I personally ask you to withdraw your name from inactivity and allow this to come to fruition. You will not be dissapointed.

Please understand, I was NOT milking this for people to beg me to come back. I hate it when people do something like that. I really don't think I qualify for this since I'm such a newbie.

But since Tblaze and MainStick asked and said such nice things, I will hereby withdraw my withdrawl and participate as best I can. Very Happy
