|
|
Some of the more common excuses include things like "I was already pot committed" or "I thought he had me beat, but it was just too good to lie down."
What are some of the expressions you hear when someone calls you down? My favorite is I gotta call ya to keep you honest. |

I try not to play too many bad hands, but I have been known to use the "pot commited" excuse a time or two...or three. |

I actually just heard this the other day at brick & mortar... It was my blind, I was already in!
Called 10 2 os against my AA. Raised preflop... he won with 10 on flop and 2 on the river..... |

Tee, were you on JetSet when you got rivered
Anyways, As a really conservative player (pre flop).. I usually don't worry about playing bad hands...
However I have a problem when I have a huge chip stack.. I want to bully, and play agressive.
The best way to start is too lay down hands your wouldn't... low pocketpairs... A2 (even if it's soooooted)..... at a full table i fold KJ J10 s K10.... all of those hands I call trap hands...
Best of luck and remember the best way to keep your chips is to fold. |

|
|
As a fairly new player, I honestly didn't understand why everyone doesn't stay in pre-flop, just to see what comes up. I didn't know what 'rags' were or what the statistical probabilities were of different hole cards so I played everything I got in the hole till after the flop. Alot of times I would hit two pair with rags and think that since I won the pot, I played the hand right. It's all a matter of learning.

aye i call em trap hands to. at a FL table though i'll raise or fold with them if i'm the 1st person in the pot or if i got big stack in a tourny depending on my pos. and the table.
bear in mind pot odds if a UTG player has raised and there is going to be 8-10 bets in the pot for your one (in your big blind) it takes a very very very bad hand getting those odds with pos. on the raiser (- you call, flop a miracle, check, he bets couple call you call try for check raise through all callers on turn -) the thing to remember there if you flop top pair that is weak with weak kicker it might be time to drop it.
sometimes calling with a bad hand makes sense not very often do it to often and in long run your the one that will suffer (imho) |

| Can someone tell me what UTG means? I have seen it mentioned in other posts and don't have a clue what it means. |
