In Omaha and Omaha H/L, I don't consider two pair a good hand. Any set destroys you and it is very easy for someone to hit a higher two pair much of the time (Unless you are already at Aces and Kings... and that means you have to stair at a chance of a high str8 showing up.
I consider it a nice thing to win a pot with 2 pair, but it's rarely something that I'd go all in with.. especially early in the hand. |

not the point, point is I knew he didnt hit 2 pair was very obvious and all in on top pair is dumb call which he made. My raise all in was right play he just got very lucky to pair up on the turn. |

| That's just how Omaha is. Draws seem to hit a ton more often, and if it's freeroll the guy isn't gonna play as tight or normal ya know? Oh well... |

omaha is my favourite game but in the large tournaments I'm lucky to get in the top 30 or so. I'm always waiting with those darn two pair. I make the mistake of thinking about the low hand too much. What is a great hand?

IMHO ,.. you didn't make the right play coz he called, if he had folded you would of made the right play, risking big on two pair in an omaha tourny high or h/l is not a long term sucess story.
a great hand (imho again),. is a two way hand or a "freeroll" hand where you have the nuts and a draw to better say strt and draw to FH or flush,.
-quite often someone with same strt will raise and re-raise you getting out the nut flush draw or bigger boat draws giving you that freeroll your strt against there's while they have no way to beat you ... try and spot this trap if your sat on a flop with a nut strt and everyone is cold calling raise's esp. in tournys take the turn off then ram it if its still good people don't gamble as much with one card to come-
or say with A23 and flush draw on 4589 board easy for you to push, whatever happens your getting chips back and if 67 A3 cals you (lol he prob ((wrongly)) be re-raiseing you on turn) he's in big trouble when you hit your flush as well on river. |
